Ryevitalise events

Everwitch Theatre Exhibition at Rievaulx Abbey (29 November, 6pm to 8pm) – free, family friendly event with drinks and nibbles provided RSVP to [email protected] by 22 November.

In addition to the above, a celebration event for the Ryevitalise Landscape Partnership scheme is planned for January 2025 –  date and venue to be confirmed.

The majestic River Rye meanders through a variety of landscapes – from high on the westerly moorlands of the National Park, before heading down through dales, villages and farmland. Once a lifeblood for communities, providing clean water, power and supporting an abundance of wildlife, our connection to the River Rye is gradually being lost.

The Ryevitalise Landscape Partnership works together to energise local communities and volunteers, support farmers and welcome visitors from near and far to “conserve, enhance and restore the natural and cultural heritage of the area, enabling people to reconnect with the history, wildlife and landscapes of the River Rye and its tributaries.”

Covering around 160 square miles, the Ryevitalise project area follows the River Rye as it nestles between the North York Moors National Park, the Howardian Hills National Landscape, and the arable farmlands along the Vale of Pickering. It makes for an incredible landscape of becks, streams, and river!
