Accessible Trails

Home 9 Accessible Trails

If you’d prefer to only use quiet tarmac lanes and farm tracks, then we’ve developed a set of Easy Countryside Trails.

These easy countryside trails are ideal if you’re not very confident walking through open farmland; less mobile/a wheelchair user/pushing a buggy; looking to get fitter and want something easy to start with.

Developed in partnership with AllTrails (previously called iFootpath), a digital walking guide business, the walks are mapped via GPS meaning it’s easier than ever to avoid wrong turns. Users can download and print the PDF guides below for free, or download the AllTrails app. The app gives a smarter walking experience, with live GPS-powered maps that show your progress as you walk and is available for Apple and Android devices with basic functionality free of charge. AllTrails+ is available as a paid for option offering extra functionality. The app gives you access to hundreds of walking guides throughout the UK.

Route guides

These easy countryside trails are available to help you get a taste for the Howardian Hills. Routes vary from short, flat trails to longer,  hillier ones. Many link in with villages or attractions which offer tearooms, pubs or village stores where you can buy refreshments and use facilities.
