Did you know the Howardian Hills National Landscape has some of England’s darkest skies?
Besides being good for nature, dark skies are also potentially an economic asset for the tourism sector, especially in the shoulder seasons from September through to April. For just as people have long been attracted by our rolling landscape and historic sites, now seeing the stars offers another compelling reason to visit.
On Wednesday 27 August, from 2pm at Yorkshire Arboretum, the Howardian Hills Partnership is staging a free 2.5-hour astrotourism workshop for hospitality businesses. You will get tips on making your business more dark sky-friendly, marketing stargazing opportunities, learn how others have successfully tapped into the astrotourism market and get practical advice on buying equipment.
