COAST - group exhibition at the Back o' the Shop Gallery

The latest exhibition at the cafe gallery in Terrington will feature the work of 17 artists from Yorkshire working in various forms, all taking inspiration from the coast and coastal themes.

Including painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, glass, textiles and jewellery the exhibition will showcase a diverse selection of work all linked by a common theme.

The exhibition will include ceramics by Jill Ford whose work depicts the subtle colours found at the coast- pale hues of blue and turquoise with flashes of brown, against the chalky white base glaze - reminiscent of sunny days at the beach; the quirky and kitsch textile jewellery of Angela Knipe featuring adorable crocheted prawns and felted seagulls; the fine lino cuts and etchings of Michael Atkin from Scarborough, founder of Bracken Press; and the ethereal and striking paintings of Martin Hinchcliffe whose work is inspired by his love of the Ionian sea, amongst many other artists.

"COAST” will be at the Back o' the Shop Gallery in Terrington from Saturday 2nd until Saturday 23rd July, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm.
