Open Churchyard Event

OPEN CHURCHYARD

St Helen's Church, Amotherby
Sunday 30 March 2.00pm-5.00pm

Why not join Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the AONB team to find out about the work that has already been carried out in Amotherby Churchyard and future projects that the community could undertake to continue to enhance the habitats.

Learn about the diverse range of animals and plants that live in the AONB's churchyards and discover some measures that you could take to improve the habitat value of the churchyard, cemetery or other green spaces in your local area.

Find out about the support (financial, labour or advisory) that Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the Howardian Hills AONB Team could offer your community to enable similar projects. Every little helps; from constructing bat boxes and putting out bird feeders to conservation mowing of grasslands or planting native shrubs.

The sessions are primarily aimed at AONB Communities but anyone wanting to find out more about the Project is welcome to join us.

Walks in the Churchyard at 2pm and 3.30pm and refreshments and displays in the Village Hall 2pm onwards.

For more information about this event please contact Liz Bassindale at the AONB Office or Liz Hardcastle Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Living Churchyards Officer.
