MAGICAL MAY IN THE HOWARDIAN HILLS AONB
All sessions taking place at Husthwaite
GALES AND GLIDERS - Wednesday 28th May
10.00am to 12 noon
Fun with wind! Learn how gliders fly, find out about renewable electricity generation, make wind-squids and windmills.
BUGS: THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY - Wednesday 28th May
1.30pm to 3.30pm
Hunt for mini-beasts in the hedgerows and grasslands on the farm. Learn how farming and wildlife can benefit each other. Make Insect homes.
Set mammal traps for checking tomorrow.
PREDATORS AND PREY - Thursday 29th May
10.00am to 12 noon
Help us to empty the small mammal traps to discover what local barn owls eat. Examine skulls and find out what an owl had for dinner. Capture spider webs and make your own AONB arachnid.
WET AND WILD - Thursday 29th May
1.30pm to 3.30pm
What lives under the water in the AONB? Find out as you go stream-dipping in the beck. Crafty fun as well making jumping frogs and stained-glass window stickers.
Activities primarily aimed at 8-12 year olds, under 8's are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. For more details please click here.
