Even the smallest changes can make a big difference to the environment, from recycling paper to sofas.

Basics Plus is a Social Enterprise working with Adults with Learning Difficulties offering work placements and work experience in the community. With the support of the Howardian Hills AONB Sustainable Development Fund they currently operate two recycling services in the area and continue to explore other recycling opportunities which lessen the impact of industrial and domestic waste on the local environment.

Basics Plus Waste Paper Project
Provides a fortnightly paper collection service to the local business community, the team then grade, sort and despatch waste paper for recycling.

SOFA (Shifting Old Furniture Around)
Basics Plus will collect used household furniture and white goods. This enables them to provide a community furniture service, giving access to good quality used furniture.
